Auburn Dog Club Walk

The Auburn Dog Club Fun Walk will be held at the Kiesel Park Pavilion Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. This event is free to the public and open to everyone. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The walk will begin with a brief segment on the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program. Many dog owners choose CGC training as the first step in training their dogs. Demonstrations of the 10 skills necessary to pass the CGC test will be conducted.

The walk will be at your own pace. Donations will also be collected for dog food, toys, and other items needed by the Lee County Humane Society.

Compass Bank Play Fore Pets Golf Tournament

There's still time to sign up and play in the Compass Bank Play Fore Pets Golf Tournament benefit for the shelter.  The tournament will be the first-ever golf outing benefit for the shelter.  Tee-up with LCHS on Friday, March 6 for a day of fun!

Thank You Dean Road Elementary School!

     Students from Mrs. Moore's 5th grade class collected donations from their entire school for the Lee County Humane Society.  The students all participated in the project in different ways by advertising the need to their fellow students at school, organizing the donations that were collected,  and loading the goods into the shelter's car.

     In-kind donations such as dry dog food, bleach, dog treats, and cat litter are always needed at the shelter.  The Lee County Humane Society thanks Mrs. Moore's 5th grad class and all the students at Dean Road Elementary school for their generosity and kindness!

Introducing our STAR PETS!

The Lee County Humane Society is starting a new program for pets at the shelter who have been here the longest.  Our “Star Pets” will have a discounted adoption processing fee of $50.  Two cats and two dogs will be featured as the “Star Pets.”  The “Star Pet” cats will be located in the front lobby bin on the left as you enter the shelter.  The “Star Pet” dogs’ kennel cards will be marked with a star.  Each animal will remain a “Star Pet” until it is adopted and finds its forever home.

Bosco

 

"Bosco" is a bulldog mix with lots of energy and spunk. 

Victor

 

"Victor" is a young hound mix who is charming and plays well with other dogs.

Ivory

 

"Ivory" is a young, solid white, short-hair mix who is relaxed and amiable.

Buttons

 

"Buttons" is a very affectionate and playful American Bobtail.  She has already been spayed and needs a loving home to call her own.

Pet of the Week "Bobo"

LCHS Pet of the Week: "Bobo" is a young Labrador retriever mix who is high spirited and lovable.  "Bobo" has already been neutered and needs a happy home to call his own.  Visit "Bobo" and his canine companions Tuesday-Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the shelter.

Compass Bank Supports Spay/Neuter Facility

     Haven Duff (left) and Robert McDaniel (middle) of Compass Bank presented LCHS Executive Director Heather Meadows (right) with a $3,000 donation for the Spay/Neuter Facility on Thursday.  Compass Bank supports to shelter's goal to construct an on-site Spay/Neuter Facility for the shelter. 
     "We appreciate the work the humane society does for our community and wanted to show our support," McDaniel said.  Compass Bank's donation puts the shelter at just under $160,000 towards the goal of $200,000 needed to begin construction on the Spay/Neuter Facility. 
     Compass Bank also signed on as the title sponsor for the first-ever Play Fore Pets golf tournament fund-raiser which will be held Friday, March 6 at Auburn Links Golf Course. The Lee County Humane Society thanks Compass Bank for their generosity and support.

"Ivory" is a young, solid white, short-hair mix who is relaxed and amiable.  "Ivory" has been at the shelter longer than many other of our adult cats and has a discounted adoption processing fee of $50.  Visit "Ivory" and her feline friends Tuesday-Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Lee County Humane Society.
