About Us

  • The Lee County Humane Society is a 501 (c)(3) organization located in Auburn, AL. Formed in 1974 to rescue stray and unwanted animals in Lee County, the LCHS has grown to provide many services for our citizens. We partner with the cities of Auburn and Opelika as well as Lee County to house stray and unwanted animals. We also provide adoptions services, educational programs and community awareness. The Lee County Humane Society is an open admission facility serving Lee County, AL residents.

Star Pets at LCHS

LCHS Star Pets have been at the shelter longer than any other of the pets at the shelter.  Star Pets have a discounted adoption processing fee of $50.  Visit LCHS Star Pets Tuesday-Sunday from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.


Meet Our Star Pets:


Celeste pow
"Celeste" is a brindle, Pit Bull Terrier mix who's charming and smart.  "Celeste" has won the hearts of many of the LCHS staff and volunteers.


Bonnie-pow
"Bonnie" is a young, tan and white greyhound and foxhoud mix.  "Bonnie" is classified as a Meet Your Match "Goofball" which means she's temperament tested  to be  fun-loving and  happy-go-lucky. 


Milo-star pet

"Milo" is a young, black and white long hair mix.  He's friendly and sweet.


Elena-Star Pet
"Elena" is a young short hair, torbie mix who's happy and playful.
