The Lee County Humane Society manages a growing foster care program that offers an exceptional experience for animal lovers who aren’t looking to adopt, but want to make a difference in the lives the animals at the shelter. Animals in need of support beyond the shelter environment benefit from being fostered.
Animals in need of foster care include:
Puppies & Kittens who are too young for adoption
Sick & recovering animals that require special medical attention
Mistreated animals in need of socialization and care
Animals who do not fare well in the shelter setting
The LCHS is always in need of more fosters for the many animals that visit the shelter each year. In order to foster, you must be able to provide a safe, stable, loving environment for the animals in your care. There are a few simple steps to the foster application and once you complete an interview with the LCHS Foster Coordinator you are ready to bring animals in your home. If you are interested in fostering, contact LCHS Foster Care Coorinator Joelle Ferrell at joelle@leecountyhumane.org.
A foster animal’s stay with you may be temporary, but the impact on their life and your own will be lasting.
