Claim Lost Pets

What Should I Do If I Have Lost My Pet?

If you are looking for a lost pet, please visit the shelter during our normal hours on:
Tuesday-Sunday: 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
Monday: 11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

What to Bring If You Are Claiming a Lost Pet

  • Your valid driver's license or government issued photo identification.
  • Proof of ownership: A picture of the pet you are claiming, a description of the animal on a past vet record, or a notarized, written description of the pet that declares that you are the owner.
  • Fees associated with claiming your lost pet

Reclaim Fees

  • $40.00 Impound Fee per animal
  • $15 a night per unaltered animal
  • $10 a night per altered animal
All fees double after first reclaim.

If your animal is microchipped, spayed or neutered, and picked up within 24 hours of arriving at the Lee County Humane Society there will be no fee associated with your claim.

Please Remember

  • Keep proper identification on your pets at all times (ID tags).
  • Microchip your pets.
  • Have your pets spayed or neutered.
